At Port Macquarie Physio & Pilates we provide the local community with quality physiotherapy, our focus always being on customer care and an individual approach.

Our wonderful team of physiotherapists bring with them skills developed over years of work, study, travel, post graduate education and from a passion for helping people improve their quality of life. We provide an excellent team of physiotherapists with varying degrees of experience and different areas of interest to suit any presenting problem.

Amy

Amy

Amy’s work as a musculoskeletal physiotherapist and rehabilitation consultant complement each other very well, enabling her hands-on work to be well supported by assessment and clinical reasoning.

 

She enjoys working with clients to optimise function in their daily lives, at work and with sports and hobbies. An important part of this approach involves ensuring treatment is individually tailored to reduce symptoms and achieve personal goals.

 

Amy is a Port Macquaire local who loves to spend her weekends at the beach, going to the gym, hiking, kayaking or getting creative with her next art project.

Pip

Pip

Pip joined the Port Macquarie Physio & Pilates team in early 2023. She works across a range of physiotherapy fields, predominantly in musculoskeletal and rehabilitation settings. Pip is also trained in Clinical Pilates, which applies a movement-based classification and treatment approach to treat a variety of musculoskeletal conditions.

 

She enjoys working with clients to achieve their physiotherapy-based goals and keeps herself fit and healthy through jogging, hockey, surfing and an outdoor-based lifestyle.

Scott

Scott
Scott has been working as a physio since 2012, honing his skills in the Emergency Departments of Liverpool, Sutherland and Shoalhaven hospitals. During this time he extensive experience treating both acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions.

Scott had continued to grow his musculoskeletal expertise with special interest in post re-hab, casting/plastering and treating back, hip and shoulder injuries.

His background in Health & Exercise Science fuels his interest in developing exercise programs post injury or surgery, and to support return to sport/work plans.

Kathy Lawrence

Kathy Lawrence

Kathy has been working as a physiotherapist since 1984. After she graduated she travelled extensively, working in North Queensland, United Kingdom and country hospitals. In 1990 she settled in Port Macquarie and established herself in private practice.

With over 30 years of experience in manual therapy, sports and exercise based physiotherapy, Kathy has an interest in complex spinal conditions, chronic arthritic conditions, women’s health and adolescent conditions.

Kathy is constantly updating her skills. As well as manual therapy and sports physio, she’s trained in dry needling and kinesio taping. Additionally, Kathy is a Level 4 Clinical Pilates practitioner in movement based classification.

When she is not at work Kathy visits her 3 adult children and has a keen interest in travelling, hiking and playing golf.

Catherine McLean

Catherine McLean

Catherine has been a physiotherapist for 24 years, working for several years overseas and in Melbourne before settling in Port Macquarie.

Catherine has worked in all areas of physiotherapy including musculoskeletal, hospital rehab, aged care, sports and occupational health. Catherine’s love of sports physiotherapy saw her working with rugby union teams, hockey teams, cycling, dance schools and the Australian Masters Hockey team which she is still involved with.

An area of particular interest to Catherine is clinical pilates, a movement based rehabilitation treatment using pilates equipment. Additionally, Catherine is a Level 4 Clinical Pilates practitioner in movement based classification.

When she is not at work Catherine has 2 energetic young children and loves keeping fit by cycling, playing hockey and hiking.

Steve Ryan

Steve Ryan
Steve has been a physiotherapist in Port Macquarie since 1986. He had his practice in Gordon Street, Port Macquarie for years but due to injury had to forego his business and pursue other interests. Steve joined us to share his years of expertise by prescribing exercise programs, clinical Pilates programs, balance and strength programs, men’s health consults and dry needling.

Steve was affiliated with the Port Macquarie rugby league club and surf lifesaving clubs for years as both a player & physiotherapist.

Away from work Steve enjoys touch football, beach walks and spending time with family.

Louis Voutas

Louis Voutas

Louis has worked as a Physiotherapist, mostly in Port Macquarie, for over 32 years. Louis gained post graduate qualifications as a Level 2 Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist in 1991 from Sydney University. It is in this field that his true passion lies. Louis has had experience in a variety of settings from public and private practice, aged care and as a clinical educator.

Louis’ additional qualifications as a manip therapist provides a unique skillset and enables him to treat more complicated spinal conditions.

Louis has many interests outside of work. He is a member of the Port Macquarie Sunrise Rotary Club and also enjoys pursuing his interest as a guitarist and electric bass player with other local musicians and bands.

Sam Warner

Masters Physiotherapy

Sam started his studies at UTS undertaking a Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science. His aim was to acquire the prerequisite knowledge from this degree to study within the University of Sydney Masters of Physiotherapy program. In total completing 5 years of study and receiving his Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science and Masters of Physiotherapy.

Starting a career in physiotherapy has been a long-term goal for Sam, whose objectives is for his patients is to improve their quality of life and empower them to take an active role in looking after their health. Sam is eager to continue growing in his career as a physiotherapist with ongoing learning and feels that therapists can keep improving through experience and exploring new research within the field.

You will find Sam enjoying the outdoors outside of work. His main hobbies include most outdoor activities such as surfing, swimming, relaxing by the beach, fishing and hiking complimenting his active lifestyle.
